BOARDMAN - The Riverside Pirates won a home match agains Culver on Saturday. The score was 10-0 with the game ending in the 38th minute of the second half. The Pirates had at least 38 shots on goal during the match. Most of the game was played in the Culver zone since the Pirates basically had control of the game.
Riverside's first goal came in the 20th minute of the first half in a shot by number 8 from the left side of the goal about 18 meters out from the goal. The second goal came in the 30th minute by number 9 who took a shot from an assist. The next goal came in the 34th minute by number 8 from the right side of the goal about eight meters out. That gave the Pirates the 3-0 lead going into halftime.
Boardman scored the first goal of the second half in the first minute of play to take a 4-0 lead. The goal by number 9 came from the left side of the goal at an angle. The next goal came in the 7th minute from a shot in group of players straight out from the middle of the goal. Riverside scored again in the 13th minute by number 3. That made the score 6-0. Riverside scored their seventh in the 30th minute from about 20 meters out on a looping shot over the head of the Culver goalie. The 8th goal for the Pirates came in the 35th minute from about 15 meters out. Riverside forward number 11 scored two minutes later with a shot under the Culver goalie's stretched out leg. Riverside was now ahead 9-0. One minute later number 11 scored again from about 8 meters out to seal the win for the Pirates.
