ECHO - The Ione Lady Cardinals defeated the Echo Cougars 27-22 in a game on Saturday night, January 24, 2009. The low scoring game had two Cardinals 25 of their 27 points and no Cougar scoring over 7 points.

Echo led at the end of the first period 6-2.

Ione held Echo scoreless in the second period. Ione scored 4 points in the period to tie it up 6-6 at halftime.

Both teams scored more in the third period with each team scoring 9 points.

Ione scored 12 in the fourth with Echo scoring 7.

Overall top scorer for the game was Beth Morter of Ione with 15 points. Only two other Ione players scored - Stefani Archer with 10 and Brianna Peterson with 2. Cougars scoring were Ashley Gregorson with 7, Shilah Hillard 5, Lauren Elligsen 4, Ryanne Tarvin 4, and Taylor Tarvin 2. Echo was 10 for 45 from the field and 2 for 9 from the freethrow line. Ione was 10 for 50 from the field and 7 for 16 from the freethrow line.
