HERMISTON - The Hermiston Bulldog softball team loss both games in the doubleheader with The Dalles Wahtonka on Saturday, April 11, 2009. TDW won the first game 10-7 and the second game 7-1. The young Bulldog has had a tough time the last few weeks. The Dawgs have led at times late in games only to see the lead slip away. Such was the situation in the first game on Saturday. The Bulldogs led 7-6 at the top of the sixth. The Eagle Indians were able to tie it up 7-7 during the seventh inning. Top of the eightth had TDW scoring three runs to take the 10-7 win.
Hermiston scored early in the second game taking a 1-0 lead. The Dalles Wahtonka started scoring in the top of the third inning. The Eagle Indians loaded the bases and then did everything they could to bring the runners home. TDW ended up scoring six runs in the top of the third to take a commanding 6-1 lead. The last score in the game came in the top of the sixth when a TDW player scored on a fly ball dropped by a Bulldog. TDW won the second game 7-1.
