ECHO - The Horizon Lady Hawks defeated the Echo Cougars 39-37 on Saturday, January 16, 2010 in a close game. It was a back and forth game from the very start. Echo led at the end of first period 10-4. Then Horizon came back to tie it up at halftime 17-17. Echo then held Horizon to just three points in the third to take a 32-20 lead. Then Horizon's offense came alive scoring 19 points in the fourth to take the two point win, 39-37.

Leading scorers for Echo included Sara Reese with 9, Shilah Hilliard and Kristen McCallum each had 8 and Ryanne Tarvin with 6.

The leading scorers for Horizon were Anna Benthold with 14. Anna Jensen had 10, Stephanie Taylor with 9, and Dominique Figueroa with 4.

Echo shot 34.8% in the first half, 44% in the second half for 39% overall. Horizon shot 25% in the first half, 30% in the second half for 27.8% overall. Echo went 100% hitting 2 for 2 on three pointers. Horizon went 3 for 7 on treys for 42.9%. Horizon held a major lead in hitting freethrows going 6 for 10 for 60%. Echo only hit 3 of 14 for 21.4%
