STANFIELD - The Pilot Rock Rockets defeated the Stanfield Tigers 60-49 on Saturday, January 30, 2010. The Rockets led from the five minute point of the first and never lost the lead for the rest of the game.

Stanfield scored first at the start of the game. The the Tigers led 3-2 when Lane Byrnes of Pilot Rock hit a trey giving the Rockets the lead that they never relinquished. The Rockets worked the ball well and top scoring came from Byrnes, Shane Lazinka, Dylan Cutler. The Tiger's scoring came from Robbie Shirley, Ryan Griffen, and Derek Monkus.

The Rockets outscored the Tigers 13-12 in the second. Stanfield's scoring in the second came from Devin Bailey, Quinton Grogan, Chase Erwert, Monkus, Shirley, and Griffen. Pilot Rocket scorers in the second included Chance Norquist, D'Marcus Bowie, Cutler, and Lazinka. Pilot Rock led at halftime 29-19.

Stanfield outscored Pilot Rock 18-14 in the third period closing to within six points. Scoring for the Tigers in the third included Mario Madrigal and Bailey with treys, Grogan, and Shirley. The Rockets scoring came from Shane Mascall, Byrnes, Bowie, and Cutler. Rockets led 43-37 at the end of the third.

The fourth period opened with the Rockets picking up a technical foul which sent Stanfield's Devin Bailey to the line where he hit 2 of 2. Also scoring for the Tiger's in the fourth were Griffin, Erwert, Grogan, and Shirley. Pilot Rock outscored the Tigers 17-12 in the fourth. The Rockets won by 11, 60-49.

Pilot Rock Lady Rockets at Stanfield Tigers

In the opening varsity game of the afternoon the Pilot Rock Lady Rockets defeated the Stanfield Tigers 48-25 on Saturday, January 30, 2010.
