HERMISTON - The Hermiston Bulldogs defeated the Crook County Cowboys 81-44 on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Hermiston cruised to the win leading from the opening tip the final buzzer.
Hermiston's first score came at 7:24 when Kurt Simmons hit the first of four threes in the period. Also scoring in the first for the Dawgs were Joey Burns, Rylie Smith and Trevor Phillips. Among Crook County scorers were Jordan Reeher, Antonio Sanchez and Caleb Henry. Hermiston led at the end of the first 19-12.
Hermiston continued their scorching play in the second outscoring Crook County 17-10. Hermiston's scoring in the second included Alex Boedigheimer, Ricardo Rodriguez, Phillips (8 including a dunk) and Burns. Crook County scored ten in the period from Hayden Simpson, Travis Bartels and Reeber. Hermiston led at halftime 36-22.
Hermiston scored 24 points in the third compared to Crook County's 10. The Dawgs were consistantly hitting their shots. Scoring for the Dawgs were Alex Boedigheimer, Alex Ortiz-Chavez, Simmons and Smith. Crook County scoring came from Sanchez, Reeber and Bartels. Hermiston ended the third with a dominating 60-32 lead.
Hermiston scored 21 points in the fourth. Crook County picked up the pace a bit scoring 12 points. Hermiston scoring came from Ryan Ross, Ryan Parsons, Eloy DeLaCruz, Kolton Boedigheimer, Smith and Burns. Crook County had scoring from Tevin Cooper, Peyton Seaquist, Simpson and Sanchez. Hermiston finished the game strong and won it 81-44.
