HERMISTON - The Pendleton Bucks defeated the Hermiston Bulldogs 9-2 in a single baseball game on Friday, May 13, 2011. It was a mostly sunny afternoon with the temperature around 70 degrees at game time.
Pendleton scored first in the top of the second inning off a hit to rightfield that scored a runner from second base. Pendleton led at the end of the second 1-0.
Pendleton scored again in the top of the third on a hit to leftfield that scored a runner from second. The next Buck batter hit to leftfiels scoring a runner from third. Pendleton led at mid way through the third 3-0.
Hermiston got on the board in the bottom of the third when Jacob Almaguer hit to left field to get on base. Justin Jones then bunted pushing Almaguer to second base. Jeremy Holden then hit to centerfield scoring Almaguer from second. Pendleton led at the end of the third 3-1.
The next scoring came in the top of the fifth when a Pendleton batter hit a grounder that scored a runner from from third. Next up a balk by Hermiston pitcher Tim Rude scored a Buck runner from third. A grounder that ended up being overthrown at first scored a runner from third. Pendleton led at the end of the fifth 6-1.
Pendleton scored in the top of the sixth on a hit to right field that scored a runner from third. A Pendleton batter then hit a shot down the third base line into left field scoring a runner from second base. Pendleton led at the mid way point of the sixth 8-1.
Hermiston scored in the bottom of the sixth when Justin Jones led off with a hit to left field. Camran Pollick then hit to right field scoring Jones from third. Pendleton led at the end of the sixth 8-2.
Pendleton got one more run in the top of the seventh when a long flyout to centerfield allowed a runner to tag at third and score. Pendleton won the game 9-2.
