STANFIELD - The Dayton Bulldogs defeated the Stanfield Tigers 20-0 on Friday, September 2, 2011. It was the season beginning home opener for the Tigers.
Dayton took the opening kickoff. On the Bulldogs third play of the game quarterback Colton Bicklehaupt connected with Hayden Fullerton on a 60 yard pass play for a touchdown. The PAT was good giving Dayton the 7-0 lead in the first two minutes.
Stanfield got a chance to score in the second quarter when they recovered a Dayton fumble at the horn ending the first quarter. The Tigers drove over 80 yards in seven minutes to come up short due to penalties. Dayton took over on their own eight yard line.
The next scoring opportunity occured in the third quarter when Dayton took over on the Stanfield 42 yard line with 10:47 to go in the third. In nine plays Dayton made to fourth and four on the Tigers' 14 yard line. Colton Bicklehaupt again connected with Hayden Fullerton for a touchdown. Dayton missed the PAT making the score 13-0.
The teams exchanged possession through the rest of the third and all the way to just 5:38 to play in the game. That's when Dayton put together a five play series that ended with Colton Bicklehaupt scoring on a quarterback keeper from the three yard line. The PAT was good giving Dayton the 20-0 win with just three minutes left to play.
