HERMISTON - The Hermiston Bulldogs defeated the Rex Putnam Kingsmen 47-14 on Friday, November 4, 2011. Hermiston dominated the Kingsmen 40-0 in the first half and cruised through the second half to the final 47-14 win.

Hermiston first took possesion of the ball with 10:37 to fo in the first quarter after Rex Putnam ended up with a 4th and 12 forcing them to punt. The Hermiston quarterback Adam Campbell put together a six play series for a touchdown. The five run one pass drive ended with a three yard run by Bobby Adams for the touchdown. The PAT was blocked which made the score 6-0 for the Bulldogs.

Hermiston's next scoring opportunity came after a short possesion for Rex Putnam ended in another punt. It only took two plays for Hermiston to score on a 16 yard touchdown pass to Alex Ortiz. The two point conversion was good giving Hermiston the 14-0 lead with 6:27 to go in the first quarter.

Rex Putnam had put together an eight play drive when defensive back Rique Cardenas picked off a pass from Deshawn Stephens. Cardenas ran it in 42 yards for a touchdown with 3:37 to go in the first quarter. The PAT was pushed right and missed making the score 20-0 for the Bulldogs.

Hermiston scored another 20 points in the second quarter. Hermiston's first scoring opportunity in the second quarter came when they took over offense with 9:06 to go in the half following a punt by Rex Putnam. The touchdown drive took four plays and covered 46 yards. The touchdown came on a 3rd and 3 on the Rex Putnam 28 yard line. Bobby Adams ran it in for a touchdown. The two point conversion was unsuccessful making the Bulldog lead 26-0.

Rex Putnam ended up near their own goal line. They ended up 4th and 2 on their own 9 yard line and forced to punt. Hermiston's drive then fizzled on the Rex Putnam 33 yard line. On a first and 10 on the Hermiston 32 yard line Deshawn Stephens of Rex Putnam had his pass picked off by Adam Maslen. Hermiston's then scored on a one play drive on a 33 yard run by Bobby Adams. The PAT was good giving Hermiston the 33-0 lead.

The Rex Putnam quarterback Deshawn Stephens was injured in the next series and the Kingsmen drive ended with a punt to the Dawgs. Hermiston took possesion with 2:02 to go in the first half of the game. Hermiston then ran the ball five times to drive 41 yards for a touchdown. Bobby Adams then ran it 12 yards for a touchdown with 30 seconds to play in the first half. The PAT was good giving Hermiston the 40-0 lead with seconds to go in the first half.

Hermiston started off the third quarter with a kickoff return to the Rex Putnam 15 yard line. Two runs by Bobby Adams including a three touchdown run. The PAT was good giving Hermiston the 47-0 lead with 11:29 to go in the third quarter. Due to the dominent lead by the Bulldogs the clock continued to run with stoppage except for timeouts for the duration of the game. The teams exchanged possesion during the rest of the third quarter with Hermiston leading 47-0 when the buzzer sounded.

Rex Putnam was able to put a one play 41 yard touchdown run by Kolleh Mitchell with 3:01 to go in the game. The PAT by Bella Geist was good cutting Hermiston's lead to 47-7. After a short possesion by Bulldogs that ended on a fumble that was covered by Rex Putnam with 2:00 minutes to go in the game. Tucker Fleishman picked up the ball and ran it to the Dawgs' six yard line.

Three plays later Rex Putnam scored on a three yard touchdown pass. Bella Geist hit her second PAT in a row cutting Hermiston's lead to 47-14 with 14 seconds to play in the game.

Hermiston took the kickoff and had one play before the game ended. Hermiston won 47-14.
