BOARDMAN - The Riverside Pirates defeated the Waitsburg Prescott Cardinals 77-52 on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Riverside had some big scoring from a number of p;ayers. Unofficially Sean Shimer had 28 points, Marco Carranza had 15 points and Erik Ruiz had 14 points.

Riverside dominated play in the first quarter. The Pirates held W-P to just a free throw point for 7:45 of the first quarter. Riverside's Sean Shimer scored a trey and four freethrows. Erik Ruiz scored on a jump shot and a layup. The Cardinals finally hit a trey with 15 seconds to go in the first. The Cardinals Riverside led at the end of the first 15-4.

Waitsburg Prescott came alive in the second and scored 23 points. So did Riverside during the fast paced, almost hectic second period. The Cardinals hit hit three treys compared to Riversides single three by Sean Shimer. Scoring in the second for Riverside were Omar Murillo, Marco Carranza, and Gregg Shimer. Dustin Wonderchak of W-P had a two minute run where he scored back to back treys then hit two freethrows. Strong play by everyone. Riverside led at halftime 38-27.

Riverside outscored W-P 22-14 in the third peried. Marco Carranza of Riverside scored eight points in the third all in the last three and half minutes. Riverside led at the end of the third 60-41.

Riverside continued to dominate play in the fourth out scoring W-P 17-11.Sean Shimer scored nine points including capping the game with a steal and layup with a 1:29 to play giving Riverside the 77-52 win.
