BOARDMAN - The Waitsburg Prescott, Washington Lady Cardinals defeated the Riverside Pirates 61-25 on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Waitsburg Prescott had a particularly good night shooting.

Things started off pretty well for Riverside with senior Fabiola Lopez scoring the first seven points for the Pirates on a run to a 7-4 lead. Moments later Waitsburg Prescott caught up on a freethrow by Kristen Potter and a layup by Ronnie Hulce making the score 7-7. A steal and layup by the Cardinals and they took the 9-7 lead and didn't look back. Waitsburg Prescott led at the end of the first 16-7.

Waitsburg Prescott outscored Riverside 13-5 in the second period. Riverside had a layup by Karla Jimenez and a trey by Stephanie Leon. The Cardinals had scoring by Dionna Baker, Ronnie Hulce and Taylor Doepker. Waitsburg Prescott led at halftime 29-12.

Waitsburg Prescott scored 17 points to Riverside's 7 in the third period. Riverside's scoring came from Michell Gonzolez, Jackie Lezama, Ivonne Dominguez and Cristina Guerra. The Cardinals led at the end of the third 46-19.

The Cardinals outscored the Pirates 15-6 in the fourth period. Pirates scoring in the fourth were Cristina Guerra on a layup, Fabiola Lopez hit a trey and Ivonne Dominguez hit a freethrow. Cardinals scoring in the fourth include Amanda Cook who scored three times and Kristin Potter hit a trey. Waitsburg Prescott cruised to the 61-25 win.
