IRRIGON - The Irrigon Knights defeated the Enterprise Outlaws 78-70 on Saturday, December 17, 2011. The Knights battled the Outlaws in a tight game. The two teams combined margin of the lead was only eight points in the first three quarters. The Knights showed that they had determination and drive to not let the game slip away.

Enterprise led at the end of the first quarter 18-14 with the teams tied or exchanging the lead five times. Irrigon led 12-11 with 3:20 to go in the quarter when they went cold and the Outlaws scored seven points until Jose Romero scored on a baseline drive to break the ice. Overall scoring for the Knights came from Ernesto Aguilera, Jose Romero, Adrian Romero, and Francisco Nunez. Outlaws scoring in the first included Jordan Wulf-Castilleja, Damon Greenshields, Cody Duquette, Marcus Lynn and Joseph Harshman.

Irrigon outscored Enterprise 22-15 in the second quarter to take a 36-33 lead at halftime. Irrigon held the Outlaws to just 3 points in the opening three minutes of play while scoring seven points to tie the game at 21-21. Irrigon then took the 23-21 lead on a shot by Jose Romero. The Knights scoring in the second quarter were Jose Romero, Adrian Romero and Sean Barron.

The Enterprise Outlaws outscored Irrigon 23-21 in the third quarter but the Knights held on to the overall lead at the end of the quarter. There was a lot of action in the quarter. Scoring for Enterprise were Marcus Lynn, Cody Duquette, Joseph Harshman and Damon Greenshields. The Knights scoring came from Francisco Nunez, Ernesto Aguilera, Jose Romero and Anthony Landeros. Irrigon led 57-56 at the end of the third.

Irrigon dominated scoring in the fourth quarter 21-14. The Knights didn't take the lead for good until 4:23 to go when Francisco Nunez hit two freethrows to take the 65-64 lead. Francisco Nunez scored 15 points, eight of them free throws in the fourth. Other Knights scoring in the fourth were Jose Romero and Adrian Romero. Irrigon won 78-70.
