HERMISTON -
The Hermiston Lady Bulldogs defeated the Hood River Valley Eagles 55-36 on Wednesday,
February 1, 2012. The Bulldogs led from the opening tip to the ending buzzer.
The Bulldogs started off the first quarter with their usual uptempo play that included
three players hitting treys. Bulldogs hitting the treys were Jeni Hoffert, Andrea Waters
and Cheyanne Lawson. Also scoring for Hermiston in the first was Maloree Moss. Hermiston
led at the end of the first quarter 14-5.
The Hermiston Bulldogs out scored the Eagles 14-9 in the second quarter. Bulldogs scoring
in the second quarter were Haley Foley, Heidi Walchli, Gracie Flyg and McKenzie Byrd.
Hermiston led 33-21 at halftime.
The scoring slowed in the third quarter at Hood River out scored Hermiston 7-5. Scoring
for Hermiston in the third were Heidi Walchli and Gracie Flyg. For some reason the Bulldogs
picked up five fouls in the last minute of the third quarter.
Hermiston led at the end of the third quarter 33-21.
Hermiston got their scoring groove back in the fourth quarter out scoring Hood River 22-15.
Bulldogs scoring in the fourth included Maloree Moss, Cheyanne Lawson, Andrea Waters,
Heidi Walchli and Callahan Crossley. Hermiston won 55-36.
