Ione Cardinals Defeated Echo Cougars in Volleyball

ECHO - The Ione Cardinals defeated the Echo Cougars in volleyball in five games on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. It was a back and forth match that went to a fifth and decisive game. Ione won with scores of 15-25, 25-17, 10-25, 25-19, 16-14.

Picking up action in the third game Echo dominated play cruising to a 25-10 win. Naomi Sherbahn served out the game for Echo.

The fourth game was pretty close with the teams tied or exchanging the lead six times. There were no real long runs of serve as the teams battled hard with set ups and kills. Ione won game four 25-19.

Echo led game five until Ione finally caught up and tied the game at 14-14. Lauren Garrett of Ione then served out the final winning points for the Cardinals. Ione won game five 16-14.
