STANFIELD - The Stanfield Lady Tigers defeated the Irrigon Knights 47-35 on Saturday, January 24, 2015. The gym was packed with fans from both teams eager to see an evening of great basketball.

The teams were tied or exchanged the lead 13 times over the course of the game until Stanfield took control of the match in the fourth quarter.

The first quarter was low scoring with Stanfield taking the 9-5 lead at the buzzer.

The second quarter was closely played with Stanfield just out scoring Irrigon 11-10. Scoring for Irrigon in the second quarter were Kelly McLaughlin, Anna Ayala and Jada Burns. Tigers scoring in the second included Cynthia Curiel, Bailey Watson, Brittin Braithwaite and Shaynne Connell. Stanfield led 20-15 at halftime.

Stanfield took a six point lead late in the third as Irrigon went cold in the last four minutes of the quarter. Among the players scoring for Irrigon in the third were Kelly McLaughlin and Kayla Gilman. Among those scoring for Stanfield in the third were Ashlee O'Neill and Maddie Griffin. Stanfield led at the end of the third 32-26.

Stanfield outscored Irrigon 15-9 in the fourth quarter. Scoring for Irrigon in the fourth included Courtny Case, Jada Burns, Kelly McLaughlin, Beatriz Aguilera and Hirania Vera. Tigers scoring in the fouth included Maddie Griffin, Bailey Watson, Yazzmin Chavez, Ashlee O'Neill and Cassidy Hopper. Irrigon had a run of scoring in the final two minutes but Stanfield had built a comfortable lead and won the game 47-35.
