Umatilla Vikings Defeated Vale Vikings in Basketball

UMATILLA - The Umatilla Vikings defeated the Vale Vikings 62-35 in an OSAA 3A play-in game on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

Picking up action at the start of the second quarter with Umatilla leading 15-3. Eric Garica started of scoring in the second quarter with a fast break score. Then came back to back treys by Juan Coria and Danny Ayala. Other Umatilla players scoring in the second quarter included Andrew Jaime and Kaden Webb. Umatilla led by 26 points at halftime, 33-7.

Vale barely outscored Umatilla in the third quarter 18-16 but Umatilla still had a dominating lead. Umatilla players scoring in the third quarter included Andrew Jaime, Eric Garcia, Tristan Sanguino with back to back treys, Danny Ayala and Kaden Webb. Umatilla led by 24 at the end of the third quarter, 49-25.

Umatilla edged Vale 13-10 in the fourth quarter. Umatilla players scoring in the fourth quarter included Danny Ayala, Juan Coria, Andrew Jaime, Kaden Webb and Giovani Armenta. Umatilla won by 27 points 62-35.
